Despite funding a £½ trillion bailout, the public have suffered cuts to public services, attacks on the social safety net and poverty wages. Meanwhile the financial sector has made billions in profit and continues to prey upon the rest of the economy. Is it possible to go back to the pre-thatcher social democratic settlement?
