One Million Climate Jobs

One Million Climate Jobs – backed by eight major unions – is a plan to tackle the economic, environmental and employment crises created by those who ignore the interests of working people and the planet and prioritise the profits of the rich.

We need to tackle climate change, and we need new infrastructure to do it: clean energy, low carbon transport, and efficient buildings. They all need skilled workers, and with political will we can create high-value jobs where they are most needed. To ensure that this transition is fair, and that these jobs are secure and unionised, workers and trade unions must be part of it.

With Clive Lewis, Shadow minister for energy & industrial strategy; Hazel Graham, Chair, Climate Jobs Cumbria; Clara Paillard. PCS Climate Committee, President of PCS Union Culture Group; Andrew Simms, Fellow, New Economics Foundation; and Willie Black. Vice Chair, Unite Community, Edinburgh.
