McStrike

In September 2017 McDonald’s workers made history when workers in two stores went on strike for the first time. They demanded £10 an hour, guaranteed hours and a union. On May 1st 2018, the McStrike grew when five stores took strike action in three cities, including McDonald’s CEO Steve Easterbrook’s hometown of Watford. McDonald’s global empire and vast profits are built on a business model that relies on exploiting precarious workers and dodging its taxes. McDonald’s workers are coming together to demand respect from this global giant. Their actions are a burning sign that another world is not only possible, it is on its way.
