Thousands of jobs depend on Britain selling arms abroad, so we can’t afford to be moralistic about it. Or so we’re told. But do we really have to deploy the skills of our engineers and technicians to make weapons to sell to human rights abusers, or continue to spend vast amounts of skill and resources building nuclear weapons?
