Ordinary people doing extraordinary things

Two days of events, workshops and organising on the 12th and 13th July 2018

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who came, everyone who spoke and performed and ran workshops, and all the volunteers who made this happen, both at the Festival and in the run up.

We’re putting together a video of the event – keep checking back.

We’ve yet to decide what we’ll be doing next – whether it will be another buzzing Festival, or a series of more focussed local events, so sign up to the email list & we’ll let you know. (Fill in the boxes on the bottom of this page)

What’s Happening?

Every year the Durham Miners’ Gala is in July – and it’s awesome. This year there’s a vibrant political Festival in the two days before, with cheap accommodation.

The austerity and political climate we face is blighting the lives of millions in our communities, and we have to be organised if we’re going to change it. So we’re bringing together the very best in community organisers, political trainers and alternative media to empower ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
